Grundy Electric Cooperative Sets 68th Annual Meeting

Trenton, Missouri, August 2, 2007 -- Grundy Electric Cooperative will host its 68th Annual Meeting of the Membership on Thursday, September 6th at the Ketcham Community Center located on the campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Missouri. Registration, dinner, musical entertainment and information booths begin at 4:30 p.m.

The musical entertainment will be presented by “Young Country” from Laredo, Missouri. Prior to the business meeting, the GEC Community Foundation will award successful recipients with the 4th quarter grants.

The business meeting will commence at 6:30 p.m where member-owners will elect two directors and hear special guest speaker Bob Priddy, news director of the Missourinet.

Bus rides will be available from Bethany and Princeton to transport members to and from the meeting. Both buses will depart their designated location at 4:00 p.m. the day of the meeting. Members who wish to ride a bus should contact the Cooperative for reservations at 1-800-279-2249 or 359-3941, extension 10.

2007 Nominating Committee Announces Candidates for Directors

Trenton, Missouri, July 30, 2007 -- The 2007 Nominating Committee met Monday, July 30, 2007 to nominate Directors for Grundy Electric Cooperative’s Director Election as provided by the Cooperative Bylaws. Committee members included; Sara Howsden of Princeton, Dale Adkins of Bethany, Francis Tipton of Galt, Larry Jackson of Iowa, Jack Thieme of Humphreys, George R. Washburn of Cainsville, Matt Clark of Spickard and Oliver Prewitt of Trenton.

The following members were nominated as candidates for Grundy Electric Cooperatives director election:

• Geographic Area No. 1
  Eric Woodard of Grundy County
• Geographic Area No. 4
  Joe Hartley of Mercer County

Cooperative member-owners will have the opportunity to vote for directors during the business meeting portion of GEC’s Annual Meeting set for September 6, 2007. The Annual Membership Meeting will be held at the Ketcham Community Center located on the campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton, Missouri. The Grundy County 4-H will serve the meal beginning at 4:30 p.m. The business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The 2007 Nominating Committee was appointed by the 2006 Nominating Committee at a June 11, 2007 meeting at the Cooperative.
