GEC Members Now Able To View Daily Energy Use
Grundy Electric
Cooperative announces a new online energy usage tool now
available. General Manager Scott Wilson made the
announcement September 1 during the Cooperative’s Annual
Membership Meeting in Bethany, Missouri. Members are now
able to view their daily energy use online. The free, online
application is called MySource. Grundy is utilizing a
two-way communication system which allows the utility to
read meters remotely each day and compile that data into a
graph so members can view their electricity use. By
monitoring their daily energy use, members will be able to
see the effects various factors have upon their electricity
use, such as energy used on weekends compared to week days.
Weather data is also provided so members can see how the
extremely hot and cold weather influences their usage
patterns. General Manager, Scott Wilson stated, “The free
MySource application will help GEC members determine the
effects of energy saving measures, such as adding
insulation, caulking windows or installing new energy
efficient appliances, while also allowing members to monitor
their daily electric usage”.
Grundy Electric
members can sign up for this free service by visiting the
website www.grundyec.com and simply click on the “View My
Energy Usage” button. Members may register by entering
their name, location number, user name and password. Once
registration is complete, members can view their energy use
daily. Members may contact Grundy Electric Cooperative with
questions regarding this new service.
