CYCLE

The Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience (CYCLE) was established inTeam Building 2006. Area high school juniors can compete for a three- day leadership conference held in Jefferson City. This conference brings together the brightest young leaders from across Missouri. The focus is to teach students more about electric cooperatives, enhance leadership skills, and experience Missouri State government.

The program includes nationally known speakers and a day at the state Capitol. There is also time for some fun things like an outdoor barbecue and team competitions in various events like the “Build a Cooperative” game.

Eligibility - This contest is open to any current high school junior attending a school located in one of the 12 counties served by Grundy Electric Cooperative. These counties include Mercer, Harrison, Grundy, Linn, Livingston, Sullivan, Putnam, Gentry, Daviess County in Missouri and Wayne, Decatur and Ringgold County in Iowa.CYCLE program - A Day at the State Capitol

Essay Requirements - Each contestant is required to write and submit a typewritten double-spaced essay of at least 1000 words in length. The essay must be original, show subject knowledge, with correct grammar and be neat in appearance. A cover page is required with student name, mailing address, telephone number, parent’s full name, name of high school and teacher’s name.
